Scoring, Rule Application & Usage Guidelines

1. Nature of the Service

deckref.app (“Service” or “Application”) is a proprietary digital scorekeeping aid developed, owned, and operated by CRT Apex Technologies LLC. It is designed to assist officials, coaches, and parents in tracking swim meet results.

While the Application automates calculations based on National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules, it is a supplementary tool. It is not the definitive legal record of a meet unless explicitly designated as such by the Meet Referee.

2. Intellectual Property

The Application, including its code, design, and scoring algorithms, is the exclusive property of CRT Apex Technologies LLC. Your use of the Service grants you a limited, non-exclusive license for its intended purpose; it does not transfer ownership. You may not reverse-engineer or distribute the software.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties (Accuracy & Stability)

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. CRT APEX TECHNOLOGIES LLC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES. While we make every reasonable effort to ensure scoring logic accurately reflects current NFHS rules, we do not guarantee 100% accuracy in all edge cases or uninterrupted server availability.

Software errors, bugs, or unannounced rule changes may occur. In the event of a discrepancy between the Application's calculated score and the official rulebook or the Meet Referee's decision, the Meet Referee's decision shall prevail.

4. User Responsibility for Data Entry

The accuracy of the final score is entirely dependent on user data entry. You acknowledge that:

  • The Application cannot verify if a swimmer actually finished in the position entered.
  • The Application cannot determine if a disqualification (DQ) call was valid.
  • You are solely responsible for verifying that the digital inputs match the visual reality of the meet.

5. No Affiliation with NFHS or WIAA

deckref.app is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFHS or the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA).

6. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall CRT Apex Technologies LLC be held liable for disputes, forfeits, incorrect meet results, or any indirect, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use of this Application. Because this Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed Fifty U.S. Dollars ($50.00).

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CRT Apex Technologies LLC from any claims, disputes, liabilities, or legal fees brought by third parties (including athletes, parents, coaches, or school districts) arising directly from your use of the Application to officiate or score a live event.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
